The collaboration "Space Voyage" emerged as a unique concept uniting Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami. Back in 2002, Takashi Murakami stood as one of the most renowned contemporary artists globally, known for his vibrant and imaginative style. The pop-up concept masterfully intertwines the realms of travel and exploration with Murakami's artistic universe, resulting in a colorful and imaginative experience.

With the LV x Murakami collaboration, a modern playful sci-fi themed pop-up has been created. The mascot named "Panda" is an exclusive character found within their promotions. The pop-up features a installation of a chrome Panda sleeping while holding a flag, referencing the moon landing. On the opposite side, Panda's spaceship crash can be found. Louis Vuitton monograms are pasted to the wall, resembling stars in the night. At the back of the store features hand bag displays, visible from the exterior. 

THE CONCEPT

The pop-up showcases a delightful blend of playfulness and modern sophistication. Renowned for their artistic partnerships and dedication to craftsmanship, this collaboration infuses Louis Vuitton with a youthful and creative spirit, all while staying true to the brand's identity.

The interior boasts futuristic displays inspired by science fiction. The lighting envelopes customers in an immersive atmosphere, evoking the sensation of stepping into a spacecraft. Above the shelves, an installation replicates the design of a piloting room. The cashier desk has a modern and sleek appearance, complete with a digital display that allows customers to view product sizing and information.

Panda is the main installation display created for this pop-up. The statue is featured in a reflective chrome polish.

INSTALLATION

The signage at the front features Takashi Murakami's iconic flower character. An LV print has been created to fill the left side of the flower. The colours are also altered to match seasonality.
